BS in Criminology and Criminal Justice (CCJ)
Receive your degree from the department ranked #4 in the nation according to U.S. News and World Report. Some UMSL CCJ graduates work in social services such as corrections counseling, juvenile justice, probations and parole, or victim advocacy. Others work in law enforcement or private security or investigation in businesses.
General Education, 42 credit hours. Courses used to fulfill the social science or state requirement may not be taken from courses in the major.
Criminology and Criminal Justice Major, 37
- At least 22 credit hours in core CCJ courses.
- At least 12 credit hours at the 3000-4000 level, after prerequisites are satisfied.
- A Capstone internship may be taken during the final semester.
CCJ majors must earn at least a C- average in courses for the major.
A CCJ minor is also available as a component of the online Bachelor of Liberal Studies.
