BA in Communication
This flexible program exposes students to communication research and theory while allowing students to emphasize their specific area of interest. After completing the core requirements, students may tailor course selections to meet their interests in fields such as organizational communication, mass communication, information science, public relations, marketing, advertising, training and development, as well as all fields requiring effective communication strategies and skills.
General Education, 42 credit hours
Communication Major, 36 credit hours in Communication courses
- At least 18 credit hours must be taken at UMSL.
- At least 12 Credit Hours are taken at the 3000-4000 level
- COMM 3330 requires an online exam, which students can complete in any approved proctored environment.
- Required internship or practicum may be taken at an approved site in the geographic area students request.
A minimum GPA of 2.0 is required in Communication courses.
A Communication minor is also available as a component of the online Bachelor of Liberal Studies.
