Teach in 12
Master of Education with Secondary Teacher Certification
Students with a BA or BS degree can earn the state certificate to teach in secondary schools through UMSL’s accelerated program, Teach in 12. Courses also are appropriate for the optional Master’s of Education degree. Enrolling in UMSL’s teacher preparation program actively and uniquely engages students throughout your studies in working with secondary youths as they learn and develop in informal and formal learning settings.
Requires a minimum of 33 Credit Hours of graduate-level courses earned with a GPA of at least 3.0.
- Core courses, 25, taken over 12 months
- Practicum, 8 credit hours taken in residence at an elementary Studio School as a faculty member, planning and teaching to provide in-depth support, flexibility, and intervention for elementary students.
